Hello-

We hope this finds you keeping cool and enjoying the warm weather.  Please see the attached letter from Mrs. Leef addressing the topic of teasing.  During Guidance Lessons every student is learning about how to better understand and control his/her emotions, how emotions affect others, and problem solving strategies that they can use to hopefully prevent any further social problems (such as teasing) from happening again.
Although we are working hard on a daily basis to teach students how to interact with kindness and respect towards each other, we know that teasing is still happening; whether it be face to face, through rumors and gossip or on-line.  Our goal is to make sure that students understand what teasing looks like and sounds like as well as how to respond.  One of the more important lessons that we teach is the difference between harmless and harmful teasing, which is defined in the attached letter.

Thank you to Mrs. Leef for all see does each day to work with out students as they navigate social situations at school.

Warm regards,
Ms. Kennelly and Mrs. Kane
