It has been a busy week of learning! We have many important reminders listed below. Please read through and enjoy the long weekend.
Ms. Kennelly and Mr. Middlemiss
Parent Conference Sign-Ups
The link for Parent Conference Sign-ups, which will be taking place on November 20th and 21st, will be accessible on the Crisafulli website until Monday, November 13th, at 2:30 PM**. Click here to schedule your conference. If you have multiple students who attend Crisafulli and are signing up for more than one conference, we ask that you provide 15 minutes between your conference times to allow for time to travel between classrooms to avoid delays.
Parents of Fifth Grade Students - Conferences are to be scheduled with homeroom teachers. If you would like to meet with your child's fifth grade math teacher, please contact her directly via email. A conference with your child's math teacher will be set up outside of the scheduled conference days.
Crisafulli PTO Turkey Trot -
A packet of information was sent home this past Monday. On Wednesday, November 22nd, the Crisafulli School PTO will be conducting the “Crisafulli PTO Turkey Trot.” The Turkey Trot is a modified version of last year's Race for Education and will incorporate the same level of excitement and community building activities that proved to be a big success with students and staff. The purpose of the Turkey Trot will be to raise funds for technology (e.g., iPads, Chromebooks), enrichment programs, field trips, and special events.
Students will walk or jog around a designated area for thirty to sixty minutes. Each student will raise funds by asking sponsors to contribute a tax-deductible donation to the Crisafulli PTO.
Our school's goal is to raise $5,000. You can enable us to reach this goal by spending a minimal amount of time sharing the “Potential Sponsor Letter” to prospective sponsors. Donations can be in the form of check, cash, or online donation. Credit card donations can be made via PayPal at http://westford.org/robifullipto/
Dismissal Changes: We ask all parents to commit to handwritten notes when a change in dismissal procedure is necessary. This is the safest way for you to ensure your child's plan is followed. An email to the classroom teacher after the beginning of the school day is not effective as teachers often do not check email during the school day. If you need to change your child's dismissal plan after the beginning of school, please call the office and they will make sure the student(s) and the teacher(s) are aware of the change. When calling in dismissal changes, please try to call before 11 AM so the
students know their new dismissal plan prior to dismissal, though we understand that on occasion, notes are forgotten or plans change after a child has left for school. Working together, we can make the dismissal process effective, efficient and most importantly, safe for all students.
Before School Activities: It is our goal that students not be unsupervised in the building before or after regular school hours. Please support us in these efforts by not dropping your son/daughter off prior to the start of morning activities. Also, please remind your son/daughter that he/she should report directly to their activity without a detour to the classroom or the locker. Supervision is not available in the classroom wing. Therefore, students should be reminded to wait to unpack their belongings at the start of the school day. All other students who do not attend before school activities (walkers, car drop-off and bus riders) are let into the building at 8:15 AM.
Winter Wear - Safety First:
As you know, it is cold outside and New England weather is unpredictable. We will be trying to get outside for recess as much as possible (20 minutes each day, unless it is below 20 degrees [due to temperature or wind chill]), and want to make sure the children have appropriate clothing for the weather. Please send your child to school in a warm jacket and appropriate winter clothing each day (long pants, jacket, hat, gloves and scarves). Light sweatshirts are not sufficient for 20 minutes of outdoor play when temperatures are below freezing. Winter snow boots and snow pants are required for those who would like to play in the snow during recess.
Snow Delay and Snow Days - Morning Programs: Please remember, there is no Early Arrival Program or before school activities (Band, Chorus, Orchestra or Morning Math) in the event of a snow day or snow delay.
