JAC News - MCAS, Report Cards, Dates and PTO Shop
Greetings,

There is a buzz of excitement in the air at Crisafulli.  The orchestra, band, and chorus are busy practicing for our Winter Concert on December 14th. We have observed some wonderful learning opportunities in the classrooms such as research on Chromebooks, book talks, and mathematical problem solving. Over the next few weeks, there will be lots of fun sprinkled in with the learning experiences. The students will have the opportunity to experience: Crazy Hat Spirit Day (12/22), our school's Winter Concert, Winter Parties, and a slide show at our December Community Meeting.

Please read through the information below for updates on Revised MCAS Schedule, CORI information, and PTO School Store.

Warm regards,
Ms. Kennelly and Mr. Middlemiss

CORI Check and Fingerprinting:  If you have not completed a CORI for the 2017-2018, please do so by visiting any Westford school office before January 1, 2018.  All school volunteers are required to complete a CORI check before they can volunteer in any school.  If you wish to volunteer for off-site field trips or Grade 5 Camp, you will need to have fingerprints on file, as well.  For more information on CORI's and fingerprinting, please visit the following link.

Winter Wear - Safety First:
As you know, it is cold outside and New England weather is unpredictable.  We will be trying to get outside for recess as much as possible (20 minutes each day, unless it is below 20 degrees [due to temperature or wind chill]), and want to make sure the children have appropriate clothing for the weather.  Please send your child to school in a warm jacket and appropriate winter clothing each day (long pants, jacket, hat, gloves and scarves).  Light sweatshirts are not sufficient for 20 minutes of outdoor play when temperatures are below freezing.  Winter snow boots and snow pants are required for those who would like to play in the snow during recess.

Snow Delay and Snow Days - Morning Programs:  Please remember, there is no Early Arrival Program or before school activities (Band, Chorus or Orchestra) in the event of a snow day or snow delay.

Report Cards -
The Parent Portal will open at 4 PM on December 15th to access Report Cards.

To access your child's report card, log into the Parent Portal: http://www.westfordk12.us/pages/iParent/index  If you have already registered for iParent access, but do not remember your user name and/or password, do not register again.  Simply send an email to iparent@westfordk12.us to obtain that information.
