Grade 5 Environmental Camp
Beginning Monday, June 4th through Friday, June 8th, all fifth grade students in the Westford Public Schools will be attending the Outdoor Environmental Program at the East Boston Camps in Westford. All fifth grade students will board buses at 8:25 AM at the Crisafulli School and be taken to the East Boston Camp. It is important that all students arrive prior to 8:25 AM so they have time to board the bus to camp.
Volunteers for Grade 5 EBC - In the event that the Environmental Program has to be canceled at the EBC location because of inclement weather, volunteers will be notified via email and a "connect ed" call.
Rule of Thumb: As long as the rain is not torrential and there is not a thunder storm, the Environmental Camp will take place as planned at EBC.
Fifth grade parents please go over these important rules with your children.
There is no need to bring money.
Please be respectful to all camp Volunteers, Entertainers, Teachers and each other.
1. Respect East Boston Camps Property:
- Keep trash picked up
- Keep bathroom facilities clean - no vandalism
2. No writing or carving on walls or trees
3. No electronic gear
4. No gum
5. No weapons of any kind including squirt guns
6. No offensive language or offensive gestures
7. No unsportsmanlike conduct
8. Absolutely NO BULLYING
COME PREPARED FOR THE WEATHER - If rain is predicted, bring rain gear and pack your things in plastic. It is best to dress in layers! Please remember to use sun screen lotion, bug lotion and wear a hat. Just a reminder, please check your child for ticks at the end of the day.
Late Buses During Grade 5 Environmental Program Week
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The week of June 4th 8th is the 5th Grade Environmental Program. As in past years, the buses
returning elementary students home at the end of the day will probably run a little late that
week. We hope that this reminder will help to relieve any anxiety you may have if your child's
bus arrives home later than usual during camp week.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Sincerely,
Carol Shestok, Environmental Program Director
Janet Dyson, Environmental Program Coordinator
